Below you will find the frequently asked questions. If you cannot find the answer you are looking for, please do not hesitate to contact our team!
How do I place a bid?
You can place a bid by registering as a bidder at Trigonauctions.com/register.
We will go through your account and contact you if necessary. This can take up to 2 days. When your account is approved you will receive an email with a link to create a username and password.
Once registered and logged in, you can place a bid on your chosen horse.
When do I have to pay?
1 – 2 working days after the end of the auction you will receive an invoice by e‑mail of the horse you have purchased. There is a set payment term of 8 days to pay the invoice. The invoice must be paid by bank transfer.
When can the foal be delivered?
A Foal that has been sold at the auction and was younger than four and a half (4.5) months at the time should actually have been delivered to the Buyer and purchased by the Buyer no later than when the Foal is five (5) months old.
A Foal that has been sold at auction and is five (5) months or older must have been delivered to the Buyer and purchased by the Buyer within fourteen (14) days after the Auction.
Can I see the foal?
An appointment can be made with the seller to view the foal, please contact our team.
How do I know if the foal is healthy and correct?
The Seller undertakes to instruct his Veterinarian to perform a clinical examination of the Foal on the basis of the Auctioneer’s Veterinary Inspection Protocol no later than 7 days before the start of the Auction. The seller guarantees that at the time of selection, around the time of the Auction and upon Delivery, the Foal does not show a generally known defect or symptoms and / or is not under the influence of illicit substances, in accordance with any applicable (doping) regulations.
When is the foal weaned?
The foal is weaned at a minimum age of 5 months.
I have made an offer, now what?
To guarantee the speed of bidding, no confirmation of your bid is requested. The last requested bid is always displayed on the bid button.
In case you are outbid by another bidder you will receive a message.
When does the auction end?
The auction closes on a pre-specified date and time. The duration of the Auction is indicated on the auction site. If a bid is made in the last five (5) minutes before the stated closing time, the closing time will (always) be extended by five (5) minutes. The definitive closing will then take place at the moment that no new bid has been made for five (5) minutes after the last bid
When will I know if I have the winning bid?
The Foal is assigned to the highest Bidder. If you are the highest bidder you will receive a confirmation by e‑mail. You will be contacted after the auction.
I buy as a company, do I have to pay VAT?
If VAT must be levied on the Purchase Price of a Foal, this will be stated both online and on the invoice to be drawn up by the Auctioneer.
How do I prepare the final invoice?
After Allocation of a Foal, the Auctioneer draws up an invoice and the Buyer must increase the Purchase Price, plus the Buyers’ Committee and, if applicable VAT, pay the Auctioneer to a bank account to be designated by him and with due observance of the payment term set. eight (8) days.
How do I insure my purchase?
The Trigon Auctions Insurance Partner, Ashby Underwriting & David Ashby Europe offers you the possibility to insure your purchase.
Foals are insured from the delivery date. Two-year and three-year-old horses, broodmares and embryos can be insured at the time of purchase.
How can I transport my purchase?
After the purchase of your horse or foal, Trigon can organize the transport of your purchase to wherever you want. Our experienced partners will take care of everything for you.
I want to buy a foal, but I don’t have room to raise the foal. Can Trigon help me?
If you do not have the opportunity to provide your purchase with the necessary growing facilities, we can put you in touch with our partners to store your horse or foal.
